Vintage Wooden Folk Sculpture Old man in a coat by Canadian Artist Paul E Caron





A handmade wood carving representing an old man by renowned carver Caron. Made in the 1960s and signed by the artist.





As you can see, a shield of his hat has been broken off, has some wear and tear consisted with age but it is nonetheless a fine sculpture!





Wood carving is one of the many traditional arts in Québécois culture. Sculptures are mostly made of basswood, butternut, white pine, white oak, poplar or sumac.





They are entirely made by hand, and making a single sculpture requires hours of hard work.





It is a unique piece of collection and a must have if you have interest in folk art!
